Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher to provide specialized health education to high school students who are homebound. This role focuses on delivering tailored instruction in a one-on-one setting, fostering both academic growth and personal development in health-related topics.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct personalized health education sessions for high school students, adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
• Develop and implement engaging curriculum materials that align with educational standards.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with parents, healthcare professionals, and school staff to support each student's educational journey.
• Maintain accurate records of student assessments and progress in a timely manner.
• Provide guidance and support to students in developing healthy habits and understanding health concepts.

Qualifications:

• Dual certification in Health Education and Special Education for high school grades.
• Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs, particularly in a health education context.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and families.
• Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation.

Location:

• Massapequa, NY (Homebound instruction)
