Job Description
R&D Altanova a subsidiary of Advantest America Inc. a semiconductor manufacturing company.
Due to ITAR regulation, this position requires the candidate to have a Green card or be a US citizen.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops SMT assembly and soldering processes in medium to high-mixed complex PCBA environment.
· Plan and develop process and capacity utilization strategies for SMT assembly operations.
· Develop solder paste printing, automated solder paste inspection, component placement, reflow soldering, and automated optical inspection (AOI) processes.
· Develop SMT solder paste reflow profiles to ensure proper solder wetting.
· Identify the root cause of yield/ quality issues and work with internal design/ application groups as well as vendors to develop corrective action.
· Ensure production readiness of key processes in PCB assembly cycle.
· Continuously improve SMT processes and yields.
· Design experiments to develop optimum production processes such as solder paste selection, stencil designs, feeder set up methodology, and selective soldering techniques.
· Optimize machine set up and programming.
· Collaborate with internal teams on New Product Introductions (NPI); Interface with customers on pre-assembly or post-assembly concerns.
· Manipulate data files using Gerber, ODB++, various CAD packages and 3D modeling, AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
1. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
2. Ability to interpret assembly and fab drawings and the requirements.
3. Ability to follow clean room and ESD policies.
4. Familiar with and practice 6S principles in order to maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workplace.
5. Associate degree in Engineering or Technical field.
6. 2 – 4 years experience.
7. Intimate SMT process experience is a must.
8. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
9. Microsoft office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
10. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
11. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Working Conditions:
1. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
2.Able to sit, stoop, kneel bend and reach on a daily basis.
3. Must be able to sit for 50% of the workday.
4. Must be able to use microscope 10% of the workday.
