Job Description

As a medical scribe, the individual are responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, front office and clinical staff. Job Duties: Document patient medical history and physical exam. Document procedures and treatments performed by providers. Prepare office notes/template for upcoming appointments. Submits electronic prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by providers. Transcribe patient orders including laboratory test, radiology test, medications, etc. Transcribes any consultations or discussions with family members and/or the clinician. Performs clerical duties and tasks as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED to include heath sciences classes (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, etc.) Understanding of medical terminology. CMSS - Certified Medical Scribe Specialist - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days. Preferred Qualifications: Technical School Diploma Medical Assistant or EMT. Physical Demands: Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
