Position Title: Parking Enforcement Agent
Department: Public Works – Parking Division
Starting Salary: $16.54/hour
Pay Grade: 103
Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:



  • Patrol assigned routes to issue parking tickets for violations.

  • Conduct security checks in parking garages.

  • Immobilize or coordinate the towing of vehicles as needed.

  • Observe and report vandalized meters, out-of-order equipment, or stolen property.

  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry.

  • Provide credible testimony in court as required.

  • Deliver professional customer service to the public.

  • Assist with snow removal and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience: Less than one year of related experience required.

  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license.

Skills and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of local and state parking laws and ordinances.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure.

  • Capable of working independently and maintaining accurate records.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:



  • Environment: Work is often outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, loud noises, and potentially irate individuals.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk for long periods, and lift objects up to 35 pounds.

  • Additional Requirements: Incumbents must distinguish colors, grasp objects, stoop, crouch, and operate vehicles regularly.

Schedule:



  • Shifts Available:

    • Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

    • Tuesday–Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    • Tuesday–Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
