This position is reporting to the Facility (Plant) Manager, the Maintenance Manager, and is directly responsible for the personnel and activities of the maintenance department in Hodgkins, IL and Gary, IN. The Maintenance Manager is cooperatively accountable with other management personnel for maintaining the continued operation of the facility in compliance with established safety, federal and state environmental regulations and procedures, maintenance schedules, output requirements, and contractual obligations. Responsibilities include prioritizing all maintenance and maintenance-related project activities to ensure optimal facility performance relative to available resources (personnel, finances, and allotted time); managing the activities of the facilities maintenance department; supporting and endorsing the company Environmental, Health & Safety program; directing coordination of the facility maintenance department with operations, purchasing and engineering personnel; providing technical expertise and directing coordination in upgrading equipment and development of systems; overseeing planning and coordination of all major projects and scheduled plant outages; participating in budget development and managing maintenance expenditures; assuring compliance with government regulations, environmental standards and plant safety procedures; administering human resources within the department including recruitment, performance reviews, training, and corrective actions; some travel may be involved; well versed in CMMS systems; developing maintenance programs and schedules to optimize staffing and preventative maintenance; and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
