GT Unit Lead

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will provide leadership using VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) competencies for the Glyphosate Technical Operations organization. Your leadership will empower the team to deliver the mission by focusing on beneficial outcomes for our customers and our team. Additionally, you will ensure safe operations and compliance with Process and Personal Safety, Environmental and Quality. Also, you will implement cost management, resourcing, strategic planning, and employee engagement for the team. Finally, you will ensure alignment of financial and human capital resourcing to support Muscatine operational outcomes.

The primary responsibilities of this role, GT Unit Lead, are to:

  • Leads Gly Tech teams to set Strategic Direction and 90 Day Outcome Delivery;

  • Ensure area compliance with HSEQ, OSHA, PSM, environmental/personal safety standards, and adherence to all legal requirements and policies;

  • Support teams to co-create with the site, utilizing data analysis and trends to execute on outcomes;

  • Implement strategies to improve operations performance and ensure engagement at all levels;

  • Manage strategy and decision-making accountability for approximately $36M in annual spend for the Gly Tech Cost Centers;

  • Develop and influence Gly Tech team members by facilitating the co-creation of a shared vision and designing effective work practices;

  • Support operational teams in their daily production activities, ensuring the execution of the daily production schedule;

  • Promote fluid talent and resource flow within the Unit, prioritizing self-organization of teams and acting as an escalation point when needed;

  • Provide leadership representation on Bayer, Crop Science, and other networks to achieve role objectives.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the Crop Science business;

  • Experience in building and driving business strategy and communications;

  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal competencies, including coaching and development;

  • Ability to identify, manage, and champion change, promoting flexibility to meet business objectives;

  • Self-motivated to identify and promote new ideas to improve the team;

  • Ability to read and understand engineering flow diagrams, with knowledge of chemical processes in a manufacturing environment;

  • Financial acumen and ability to translate financial analysis into prioritization for short, medium, and long-term outcomes;

  • Ability to communicate effectively as a representative of Bayer, Crop Science, and the Muscatine Site to internal and external partners;

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) and external stakeholders (community, government and innovation partners);

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of manufacturing experience;

  • 3+ years of leadership experience.

Domestic relocation may be offered for this role.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $143,359.20 to $215,038.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
