The Department Fidelity Investments has more than $ 2.2 trillion in equity assets under management and, with its roots dating back to the 1940s, has long been a leader in managing equity portfolios. Fidelity relies on its proprietary research, disciplined portfolio management and sophisticated trading process to deliver superior long-term results for its shareholders and clients. Over the years, its capabilities have grown substantially, with investment strategies designed across style, capitalization, sector, and geography. While its platform has expanded, its principles have remained the same: to offer those strategies in which Fidelity can add value and to offer products that help meet client needs.
Our Equity department has over 195 research professionals stationed around the world, giving it scale that few competitors can match. These professionals integrate their research across industries and regions while also working with sector-aligned analysts in other asset classes, such as high income or investment grade debt. As a result, they can evaluate companies based on their global reach, their capital structure and supply chains, the relative strength of their competitors, and their end markets.
The Position Equity research analyst summer interns works closely with Fidelity's portfolio managers and play a vital role in contributing to the investment performance of the firm. The intern will be assigned a group of stocks within a specific industry to analyze. This analysis involves interviewing company management, communicating with external research sources, assessing customers and suppliers, competitors of companies, compiling detailed financial models and projections, and applying economic and industry analysis to produce an investment recommendation. Interns have full responsibility for coverage of the assigned companies, and stock recommendations are solely attributed to them.
The culmination of the internship is the completion of a written Industry Review that will be presented to members of the department. The challenge is for interns to become a specialist in the assigned industry and to convince portfolio managers to implement their recommendations into funds.
Additional Opportunities As part of the program experience, interns are matched with a member of the research department who will mentor and coach them throughout their assignment. Interns are also encouraged to network and seek diverse perspectives to deepen their knowledge of the industry and Fidelity as a whole.

- Class of 2026 MBA candidates
- Highly motivated independent problem solvers who possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Shown success during their academic career and in other pursuits
- Sound business judgment and a strong interest in financial markets
- An ability to thrive under both pressure and time constraints in a risk-taking environment
- Seeks an edge and possesses a healthy level of skepticism in their thought process
