Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Batch concrete with consistency maintaining desired SCC range slump flow and ensure that range is acceptable.
- Maintain and clean all working areas of the mixer including chemical room, storage bin area, conveyor and related areas associated with the batch plant operations.
- Log and maintain daily records prior to production starting each day. Capable of making required adjustments to mixes due to changes of environment / weather conditions when needed.
- Open and clear communication with QC lab techs and Tuckerbilt operators.
- Report all maintenance concerns to supervisor in timely fashion.
- Perform regularly scheduled preventative maintenance outlined by supervision.
- Clean out mixer at the end of each shift and between breaks. Work area and floor are to be cleaned at the end of each shift.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Maintain equipment in batch area. (i.e. scales, motherboards, electrical equipment)
- Clean and maintain conveyer, and weight hopper areas.
- Maintain cement silos and assist in measurements for inventory.
- Assist in scale calibration when required by quality system.
- May be required to operate heavy equipment
- Perform general labor duties when necessary.
- May perform other precast related duties when deemed necessary.
- Communicate with yard crew for removal of yard blocks
- Proper set up of yard block forms after stripped.
- High School education preferred but not required.
- Basic Team skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions.
- Basic Planning/Organization Skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, twist, and walk, must be able to use various hand tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance on elevated surfaces; and stoop, kneel, squat, crouch or crawl.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Constant and continual medium to heavy manual, physical labor is required for this position.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as work boots, hard hats, work gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection. This is an indoor/outdoor work environment: Exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
