Under the guidance of a Laboratory Supervisor, you will assist in managing the flow of pathology specimens, including tasks such as tissue embedding, microtomy, frozen section cryotomy, and staining. Job Specifics: Benefits Eligible: Yes Shift Details: Monday-Friday, 5am-1:30pm Job Essentials: As an Entry-Level Histotechnician, you will organize and oversee the path of anatomic pathology specimens through the laboratory, ensuring timely preparation of diagnostic slides. You will be responsible for executing specimen processing, embedding, microtomy, frozen section cryotomy, staining, and various other tasks assigned to you. Attention to detail and efficiency are key in this role. Additionally, you will contribute to our laboratory's quality assurance program by monitoring essential factors such as quality control, temperatures, and addressing instrument issues. Performing maintenance and troubleshooting on lab instruments will also be part of your responsibilities. Depending on your qualifications, you may assist with surgical pathology gross examination. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program within the past five years, or possess 60 semester hours, including 12 semester hours each in biology and chemistry. An Associate degree including the same coursework is also acceptable. All education will be verified by the Quality Assurance Manager or Director. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in pathology or histology is advantageous. Physical Requirements: Ability to interact verbally with others to communicate information. Proficiency in operating computers and delicate lab equipment requiring manual dexterity. Capability to see and read lab instruments, monitors, and records. Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods while working on equipment or computers. Location: Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital Work City: St George Work State: Utah Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 The hourly pay range for this position is $23.25 - $35.89, depending on experience.
