Job Overview

You will be responsible for testing and repairing electric motors for both commercial/industrial equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities

• :
  • Conducting an analysis to diagnosis & troubleshoot faulty coils
  • Removing/stripping any damaged windings & cleaning to remove all contaminants
  • Cleaning / painting the stator (stationary portion of electric motor) and insulation of the stator slots
  • Building new coils with different winding heads that have been tested for any issues
  • Inserting new coils into the stator slots after testing the coils
  • Providing further insulation (wedging & and lacing) to protect coils
  • Testing coil quality to ensure integrity
  • Baking the motor in an oven to dry out moisture and prevent degradation
  • Dipping motor in varnish to cure before use and final testing for optimization
• Conduct Magnet repair and reconditioning:
  • Pull testing, repair and reconditioning on lift magnets, magnetic separators, permanent magnets, electromagnets and more
• Use tools to conduct surge comparison testing
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating the delivery vehicle and handling food products.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, including dress code, punctuality, and professional conduct.
• May perform reasonably similar or related duties, as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience 3-5 years (or greater)
• Associate degree or equivalent
• Proficient knowledge of shop equipment & tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment (50-70 hours per week)
• This position may require the ability to lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that may involve prolonged sitting, standing, walking, or bending
