Join our team in a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. We are staffed with RNs, CNAs, Telemetry Techs, and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced monitoring technology to deliver high-quality patient care and ensure optimal outcomes for our diverse patient population.

Join our team in a 9-bed Intensive Care Unit where you will provide compassionate care to patients alongside a dedicated team of Physicians, Advanced Practitioners, Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. Our unit operates on a 2:1 ratio with two Hospitalists, a Pulmonologist and Telehealth intensivists for immediate support and manage a diverse range of diagnoses including respiratory failure, cardio/pulmonary disease, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, administering specialized treatments, monitoring critical conditions, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. How you'll contribute

A Director (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
    administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
    Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of North Carolina or from a compact state. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
