The Director of Physical Security is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to establish, maintain, and implement enterprise security requirements across Allegion’s global operations. This role involves protecting human and business capital, and shareholder value by directing physical security measures, including access control, visitor management, video surveillance, onsite service providers, incident response, executive protection, travel security, training, and education. The Director will also develop and execute a global physical security strategy, identify risks, implement mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. This position will report to the Vice President, EHS and Remediation, with a dotted line to the CISO (Chief Information and Security Officer), and will require adapting strategies to diverse cultural environments and establishing metrics to enhance security performance. Responsibilities include developing and executing global physical security strategy and policies, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to standardize and execute security solutions, integrating physical security into business processes, building cross-functional partnerships, collaborating with cybersecurity teams, establishing metrics and KPIs, conducting audits and assessments, developing standards and SOPs for security guard operations, maintaining emergency response and business continuity plans, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting investigations, implementing travel security and executive protection, providing security training, developing security policies and procedures, presenting strategic plans to leadership, staying updated with security technologies, partnering with engineering teams, and managing facilities team and budget for Americas regional offices. Requirements include 10+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree (preferably in security administration, criminal justice, or related field), professional security certifications (CPP, PSP) preferred, proficiency with security technologies, leadership skills, knowledge of regulatory requirements, experience managing large-scale security projects, ability to identify risks and mitigation measures, global organizational experience, strong communication and presentation skills, and ability to influence and mitigate conflict. The role requires approximately 40% travel.
