Job Description

Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer Location: McLean, VA
Clearance: Secret
The position is hybrid and will sit in office 3 days/week and 2 days remote.
Salary: Open but range pending experience/certs $40-$50/hour Responsibilities:
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Assist in the design, implementation, and configuration of security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, encryption tools, and access controls.
Ensure that security measures are effectively integrated into the architecture and operation of IT systems.
Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate security breaches, malware infections, and other cyber incidents.
Conduct digital forensics analysis to determine the root cause of incidents and recommend remediation measures to prevent recurrence.
Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security
Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GIAC.
3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with hands-on experience in security assessment, monitoring, and incident response.
Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and network security appliances.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
