Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator
Location: Miami-Dade, Broward
Type: Hybrid, Part-Time, Non-Exempt, W-2 (20–25 hours per week for the first six months; transitions to Full-Time)
Compensation: $22-$25 per hour, PTO (after a 6-month waiting period)

Teeny Violini is a mobile music education program for preschools and early learning centers that promotes social and emotional wellness through creative expression. The Teeny Violini Curriculum uses the Colorful Violin method, an innovative early learning approach that engages students in music through literacy, shapes, and colors.
New Canon Chamber Collective highlights the work of Black and Brown composers and musicians, reshaping the classical music canon through performance, commissioning, and education. Together, we work to ensure children, families, and communities across South Florida experience the transformative power of music.
Position Overview
The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a key supporting role across both of Teeny Violini’s organizational pillars — Teeny Violini and New Canon Chamber Collective.
This position provides administrative, operational, and programmatic support to Teeny Violini’s educational programming, assisting with tasks such as marketing coordination, communications with partner schools, data tracking, and general operations. In addition, the Community Engagement Coordinator supports the New Canon Chamber Collective through the coordination and organization of seasonal performances, rehearsals, and community events.
This hybrid role combines administrative organization with hands-on, on-site support during event and performance seasons. It is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive, and creative individual who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys collaboration, and is passionate about arts education and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Administrative Support
Assist with scheduling, communications, and roster management for Teeny Violini classes and partner sites.
Maintain updated databases, spreadsheets, and program records.
Support internal communications, file organization, and coordination of program logistics.
Communicate with partner schools, Teaching Artists, and administrative staff as needed
Provide marketing support including drafting announcements, social media coordination, and collecting content from events and programs.
Support bookkeeping tasks such as receipt tracking and basic expense reporting.
Assist with the preparation of reports, documentation, and other internal communications as needed .
Event Coordination
Help plan, organize, and execute seasonal performances, recitals, and community events under the New Canon Chamber Collective pillar.
Attend community events, set up our table and marketing resources to represent the organization.
Serve as on-site support for rehearsals, concerts, and special events (including evenings/weekends as needed).
Coordinate logistics such as setup, breakdown, materials, transportation, artists, and volunteer support.
Work collaboratively with the administrative team to ensure seamless event execution.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in arts education, nonprofit administration, or community arts organizations.
Knowledge of music performance, arts programming, or event logistics.
Familiarity with marketing, including social media management, Canva, and basic content creation.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfort with donor engagement, public speaking, and representing the organization externally.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and grant management tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, mission-driven team.
Bilingual (English and Spanish or Haitian Kreyol) preferred but not required.
Flexibility to work after regular office hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support programs and events.
Working Conditions
This position begins as part-time and transitions into full-time after six months. Work is based in South Florida and includes a mix of remote, office, and on-site activities supporting classes, rehearsals, and performances. Team members are expected to work in the office 2–3 days per week, with flexibility depending on program and event schedules.
General hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with flexibility required for evenings and weekends to support programs, concerts, and community events. Local travel across Liberty City, Overtown, North Miami, Miami Gardens, Broward, Homestead, and South Miami-Dade is expected. Reliable transportation and proof of insurance are required. The position may involve light lifting (up to 25 lbs) and assisting with event setup and breakdown as needed.
