Posting Number: BSS26BCGW010-D County of work: Braxton, Clay, Gilmer and Webster Position Number(s): 0511P04004 Performs complex supervisory work in the provision of child protective services. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of employees performing child protective services; performs related supervisory functions. Coordinates the work of the unit with inter- and intra-governmental units, community organizations and advocacy groups. Employees are subject to on-call status during non-business hours. May be required to deal with situations which are potentially dangerous to client and worker. This position is for the supervision of ongoing CPS cases. May also assist co-supervisor with screening services. Performs related work as required. Mandatory overtime may be required for this position. Applicants must possess a valid WV driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Applicants also must have strong communication skills, a knowledge of policy, law, and procedures regarding all programs and services. Overtime hours and frequent travel may be required. Successful completion of a background check is required for employment. Responsibilities Supervise daily work of subordinate staff, train subordinate staff on applicable policies and procedures. Develop and implement services and support programs within regulatory and statutory guidelines. Communicate and consult with allied agencies and organizations. Prepare necessary reports and records to reflect the operational status of the program. Evaluate effectiveness of assigned programs and services. Provide front line administrative support for the subordinate staff including timecard auditing, create on-call schedules, create employee performance evaluations and other duties as needed. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in adult or children's services in a public or private health and human services agency. Special Requirements Valid driver’s license. Accessibility to a phone. Internal Applicants Only Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a Child Protective Service Worker and/or Child Protective Service Worker Senior may substitute for the required experience.
