Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager / Wholesale Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity . This position will also serve as the interim manager for approximately two months .
This role is crucial for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service within a liquor retail environment . The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of liquor sales and retail management practices , with the ability to drive sales, strengthen wholesale relationships, and enhance operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and state liquor regulations.
Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Handle bookkeeping tasks to ensure financial accuracy and accountability.
Engage in recruiting, interviewing, and employee orientation to build a strong, reliable team.
Implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and sales.
Manage customer service initiatives to ensure a positive and professional shopping experience.
Utilize POS systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting.
Monitor sales performance and assist in budgeting and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
Coordinate marketing efforts to promote store events, tastings, and special promotions.
Collaborate with wholesale clients, ensuring timely fulfillment of orders and maintaining strong business relationships.
Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
Strong negotiation abilities to secure favorable terms with vendors and suppliers.
Proficiency in employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and training & development.
Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are advantageous for customer and vendor engagement.
Experience in bookkeeping, inventory control, and cash handling.
Proven management skills with a focus on team leadership and accountability.
Knowledge of liquor retail and wholesale sales practices , including shift management, retail math, pricing strategies, and merchandising techniques.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers, vendors, and team members.
Familiarity with administrative and marketing tasks related to retail and wholesale liquor operations.
