Job Description

THE COMPANY: Meadowbrook Village Christian Retirement Community is a non-profit organization in Escondido that opened in 2009. We are licensed as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) and offer independent, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing services. We seek to help our residents age in place as we strive toward our mission to "honor God by serving others with love and compassion." JOB DESCRIPTION: We're seeking a friendly and organized administrative assistant to join us in the rewarding work of serving our senior residents. All office staff share the responsibilities of customer service (answer phones, speak in-person with residents & guests), but each office employee also has areas of specialization & responsibility based on individual interests and skills. This position utilizes skills such as written & verbal communication, empathy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. HOURS: This is a part-time (12 hours) position on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Additional hours may be available in the future for interested candidates.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet guests and provide customer service over the phone and in person as needed
  • Perform various office tasks such as copying, faxing, scanning, emailing, and filing
  • Guide new patients (or family members) through state-standardized contract signing
  • Upload admission documents to patient files on Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software
  • Complete and electronically submit census and staffing ratio reports according to state and federal requirements
  • Various other office tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Director of Staff Development

  • Have experience with Microsoft Office and Excel and/or Google Doc and Sheets
  • Be willing to learn basic functions on multiple software programs

  • Be self-motivated to follow through on projects and tasks
  • Behave professionally and exercise confidentiality according to HIPPA regulations
  • Be able to pass a fingerprint background check, TB test, health exam, and drug screening (required for all employees working in our community)
Job Type: Part-time Salary: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour Schedule:
  • Day shift
  • No nights
  • No weekends
Experience:
  • Customer service: 1+ year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office or Google Docs: 1+ year (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets: 1+ year (Preferred)
