Sacred Thirst is a California based importer and distributor of wine and spirits. Our portfolio is predominantly European wine, so that will be the core of the job. But we also work with excellent wines from California and Oregon and our spirits portfolio is heavy in agave (mezcal and tequila) and French fruit-based distillates (Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, etc).
Our suppliers are generally small, family run properties who farm and work with intention and care. We work with people we like and respect and whose products we like to drink ourselves. The style of wine ranges from very classic to clean renditions of natural wine. The French spirits are terroir driven renditions of classics and the Mexican spirits are authentic, small batch, agave distillates.
An ideal candidate will:
ALLHave existing sales relationships in the wine and spirits industry, an understanding of sales in general, and a history of success in sales.
Have a hustle mind set. Be self-motivated, hardworking, proactive, persistent, positive, and hospitality driven.
Have above average wine knowledge and have a love for wine and the stories behind the bottles. Above average spirits knowledge a bonus.
Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
Live in the inner Bay Area
Have a car and a valid drivers license.
What you will do:
Prospect and develop new on- and off-premise accounts (restaurants, wine shops, hotels, etc.)
Generate contacts with accounts and set up tasting appointments. 40 to 45 touches with accounts per month is expected.
Be knowledgeable about our products and be able to enthusiastically tell the stories and supply details as required.
Communicate with Sales Managers about your progress and process with your accounts and leads.
Work well with other sales reps so the team is efficient and professional.
The job requires someone who is self-motivated and persistent. We are not a company that micromanages our employees. There is a lot of freedom in this role but with that comes the responsibility to produce sales. We believe we have an excellent collection of wines and spirits. And we have chosen this industry because we believe in the importance of the culture of wine, spirits, food, agriculture, and community. It's an industry built on good times and social fun and we don't forget that. But it is also an industry that requires a lot of hustle and hard work to succeed.
Both salaried and commissioned contractor positions available depending on candidate. Compensation is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
