Job Summary:

• The Client is an Indiana-based earthmoving and underground utility contractor. We specialize in heavy highway, public works, and commercial and industrial site development. This includes work for DOT's, municipalities, general contractors, developers, healthcare, education, and environmental projects.
• We are seeking an individual with a positive attitude who is a team player and enjoys working with others.
• This position will oversee multiple pipe crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials for all underground utility projects in the Indianapolis area.
• This individual will work together with Foremen, Estimators and Project Managers/Engineers, to plan, schedule, instruct, and train in the completion of projects from start to finish.
• All activities of a Superintendent follow Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• This position provides leadership and management to crews focusing on safe, profitable, productive and quality work.
• Ensures planning and carrying out of activities that will maintain a safe project site
• Enforces strict compliance of all safety requirements
• Plans project implementation by understanding plans and specs. Confers with estimator and project manager and has construction plan established prior to mobilization
• Ensures that schedules are prepared timely and reviewed with appropriate staff
• Focuses project team to consistently exceed estimated labor production estimates
• Owners, Inspectors, and Internal Management are kept informed of work progress
• Provides on-site supervision and direction to Foremen and crew members
• Interacts with subcontractors and material vendors for uninterrupted work flow

• 10 years underground utilities and/or civil construction leadership experience is required
• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred but not required
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices
• Ability to work long hours often outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to use construction industry software; HCSS, Excel, Word, etc.
• Proven organizational and planning capabilities
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong work ethic, problem solving skills, and highly organized with attention to detail.
