Job Description

The Equix team is built on pride in the workmanship and abilities of our crews. We have a current opening for a Traveling Safety Coordinator. At Equix, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Pipeline Construction, Gas Distribution, Horizontal Directional Drilling, Facility Construction and Fabrication, and Trenching services. Responsibilities: Interstate travel will be requiredwith our pipeline crew from project to project (Central to Eastern US regions and as assigned) Coordinate with the Safety Manager and Site Team to ensure implementation of the HSE Management System at the site and that all safety requirements are consistently and correctly implemented Assist the implementation of all HSE policies and procedures Assist in managing the HSE management system within assigned areas of responsibility to achieve established HSE performance targets Maintain, monitor, and provide on-time reporting of HSE performance metrics, statistics, records and injury reporting Work with the site team to resolve problems and implement corrective actions Perform field and contractor audits on a regular basis to ensure compliance Advise the Safety Manager on EHS compliance issues and advise/assist in developing and implementing corrective actions Train site personnel in the areas of environmental compliance, occupational health and safety to ensure compliance with required safety policies and practices Review HSE deliverables, plans and programs proposed by contractors working at companys construction sites and monitor their performance to ensurecompliance Actively participate in HSE program reviews Ensure the highest level of health and safety practices. This includes wearing and demonstrating the proper use of essential safety equipment Adhere to and represent the companys values, vision and HSE Policy Statements while reinforcing Line Managements and individual employees responsibility for HSE Assist in the development, training and implementation of HSE Policies and Procedures Other duties as assigned Requirements: Two (2) years of EHS experience applicable to operations, maintenance and/or construction industry preferable Interstate travel will be required Proven experience holding people accountable to processes and standards Demonstrated success developing and monitoring safety standards Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, planning, and coordination initiatives Understanding of local, state and federal regulatory requirements Ability to work independently will be essential Must be able to sit, walk or stand for long duration of time Must have the ability to identify and distinguish colors Must be able to transfer, carry, and lift up to forty (40) pounds Must be able to crouch, kneel, or kneel for up to five (5) minutes at a time Equix offers: Multiple medical plan options Weekly pay Wellness program Dental and vision plans FSA and HSA options 401k savings plan with employer match Financial protection products Short and long-term disability, life, accident, critical illness Legal Shield and ID theft plans Employer-paid life insurance Paid Time Off and paid holidays Employee assistance program Employee referral program Pet Insurance Education Assistance Program Health Advocacy Program Candidates must pass pre-employment screenings that may include a drug test, background check, reference checks, and drivers license check with an acceptable driving record.
