Planet Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Outpatient Surgery for a travel nursing job in Largo, Florida.

We are looking for nurses for phone triage, wound checks, rooming support, great customer service skills, physician ordering support, inserting IV's for diagnostic studies. Prefer cardiac experience with ACLS/BLS. Also, we would like to cross train to cover stress lab when stress nurse is out. Mon-Friday one shift is 8am-4:30pm and the other is 9am-5:30pm. GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: The registered nurse provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:  Maintaining an orderly, efficient, and timely flow of patients.  Greeting patients and preparing them for physician’s examination.  Providing general nursing care to patients as necessary for office treatment.  Screening patients for appropriate information.  Instructing patients in collection of samples and tests.  Arranging for patient testing and admissions.  Checking rooms daily for necessary supplies.  Responding to and referring incoming telephone calls.  Instructing patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.  Maintaining and reviewing patients’ records and other pertinent information.  Posting tests and examination results.  Maintaining patient confidentially.  Administering medications in accordance with physician orders.  Maintaining current knowledge to assure a safe working environment and demonstrating practical application of all policies and procedures relative to safety and infection control.  Utilizing universal precautions in any potential contact with patient body fluids or used patient supplies that may be contaminated with patient body fluids.  Projecting a positive image of the facility in all interactions and supporting effective team functioning.  Practice and adhere to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement”.
