Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in a hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Patient population consists of medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Traveler is required to work at least every other holiday
• Certain assessments including PBDS are waived, but ECG and medication assessments must be passed during orientation
• Annual and pre-start module completion is required and tracked electronically
• Fingerprinting and badge pick-up must be completed onsite prior to start
• Permanent and per diem candidates may not return for at least 1 year after a previous assignment ends
• Assignments may not exceed 18 consecutive months with a 6-month break required before eligibility for re-assignment, unless mutually agreed upon
• Nurses are currently exempt from nicotine-free policies but must pass a 10-panel drug screen
• PAPRs are not allowed for caregivers with facial hair unless a medical or religious exemption is approved
• First-time travelers are accepted

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active permanent OH or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required and must be active
• Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation
• No open background check cases or license hits accepted
• Two references from supervisory-level staff in the specialty are required for consideration
