Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift assignment in an acute care hospital in Alaska, requiring an active AK RN license and certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in an Emergency Department within an acute care hospital
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Serve a complex patient population, including those with significant social histories
• Night shifts are 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend shifts are required
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required
• Cerner EMR is used; Epic experience is preferred
• Must be comfortable managing complex social and medical cases including domestic violence
• Holiday coverage is expected, with scheduling requiring availability for 3 out of 4 major holidays
• Maximum of one week RTO allowed, must be made up at the end of the contract
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Return staff must have a 2-year separation before returning as travelers
• Free parking provided in designated structure
• Modules are completed onsite during orientation and annually

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active AK RN license required prior to start; Compact license accepted at submission but AK license must be obtained before beginning
• Minimum of 2 years recent ER RN experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population is required
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• COVID vaccination acknowledgement required
