Job Description
Looking for an experienced driver who can work locally around Houston, TX and in the state of Texas
Must be experienced with hauling and securing flatbed trailer material. Experience with Mack trucks helpful.
Able to drive a manual transmission.
Capable of performing daily inspections of the truck and trailer.
Strapping/Unstrapping cargo on flatbed trailers.
Minimum 4 months of commercial experience.
Must have a CDL (Class A)
Tanker Endorsement preferable
Must be able to communicate in English.
Responsibilities:
· Be in good health and physically able to perform all duties of a driver.
· Be at least 20 years of age.
· Speak and read English well enough to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and be able to make legible entries on reports and records.
· Be able to drive the vehicle safely.
· Know how to safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargo.
· Load, unload and deliver product to customer sites within designated time frames using the shortest routes possible
· Maintain required logs and reports necessary to maintain DOT and company policies relating to safety standards and operation of delivery vehicles, forklifts etc.
· Strong knowledge of safe driving policies. Maintain safe driving practices.
· Safely load and properly block, brace, and secure the cargo.
Heavy lifting required
Qualifications:
Excellent driving record
Able to multi-task well
Have a valid commercial motor vehicle operator's license.
Provide an employing motor carrier with a list of all motor vehicle violations or a signed statement that driver has not been convicted of any motor vehicle violations during the past 12 months.
Pass a driver's road test or equivalent.
Possess a valid medical certificate
