Job Responsibilities
As a Tow Truck Operator / Recovery Specialist at 201 Service, you’ll perform emergency roadside services, towing, accident recovery, and abandoned vehicle retrieval using your assigned truck and towing equipment with precision and professionalism.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance—wear your uniform properly, keep your truck clean, and be ready to go when your shift starts.
- Provide safe, timely towing and roadside assistance, free of accidents or damage.
- Accurately submit invoices and process payments promptly.
- Complete daily pre-trip inspections of your truck and equipment.
- Keep your truck and all equipment in top condition by performing routine maintenance.
- Follow all federal, state, and local driving laws—maintain a clean driving record.
- Deliver quality customer service—respond quickly and with a positive attitude.
- Cooperate with team members and attend job and safety training sessions.
- Assist in training new team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties such as dispatching, maintaining the storage yard, or helping in the shop when required.
- Clear debris from roadways, assist law enforcement, and perform vehicle lockouts for stranded customers.
- Keep truck fuel tanks at least half full at all times.
- Ensure the security of the storage yard, including locking the gates when needed.
- Be courteous and empathetic—our customers are often having a rough day.
- Be prepared to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Maine State Driver’s License (Class C or greater) with a clean driving record. **This is a Non-CDL position.**
- Ability to drive both automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
- Live in proximity to ensure timely response after hours.
- Clean, well-groomed appearance.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift at least 80-100 lbs.
- Must pass background and drug tests in compliance with company policies.
