Job Description
About the role: The company is an innovator in elemental analysis instrumentation and is part of Veralto Corporation and currently needs temporary help with maintaining and upgrading the company's financial systems, account reconciliations, month-end close, auditing, internal control compliance, analytical review & cost analysis and more.
This position reports to the Controller and is on-site in the Capital Region.
In this role, you will be:
Key responsibilities include maintaining financial reporting processes, ensuring timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close requirements, performing reconciliations and variance analysis, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The role also involves managing inventory processes, developing new procedures, learning Veralto VES tools, assisting with tax reporting, leading the balance sheet review process, and participating in the annual physical inventory.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting process for the company to meet corporate recording and reporting requirements.
Together with the finance team ensure the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close requirements are completed on time and with high integrity.
Perform various mid-month and end-of-month processes, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
Work with leaders across the company to budget and forecast activities to ensure all data is collected and accurately reported to Controller and President.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
Learn Veralto VES tools and propose workflow process improvements
Assist with Corporate and State Tax reporting
Lead the Balance Sheet review process
Actively participate in the annual full physical inventory
Collaborate with the Controller on special projects
Are you qualified?
~3-5 years of experience in an accounting position with experience in the above responsibilities.
~ Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Power Point
~ High level of proficiency with Excel
~ Independent problem-solving ability and technical expertise
~ Adaptability: embrace an environment of change
~ Flexibility: able to handle routine tasks of the position in addition to the higher-level responsibilities
~ Ability to work closely with the team to drive finance processes
