Job Title: Sustainability Chemistry Co-Op

The Role: Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a Sustainability Chemistry Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.
What You'll Do: •Evaluate biomass derived solvents as less hazardous alternatives to current petroleum-based solvents for polymeric membrane formulation.
•Functionalize biobased polymers for different applications.
•Identify new energy efficient ways to recycle Entegris large volume used solvents.
What We Seek: •A third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
•Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
•A good knowledge of Organic Chemistry and synthesis required
Outstanding Candidates Will Have: •Organic chemistry synthesis experience
•Good knowledge of polymer chemistry
•knowledge of polymer formulation will be nice to have but not necessary.
•Porous Membrane and Materials characterization experience
•Curiosity and excitement about Sustainable materials research and development
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year: •A third-year undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
•Graduate student pursuing a master's or PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred.
Eligibility: - Must be a currently enrolled student
- Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January 2025-June 2025
- Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in a co-op program
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
