Work involves treating and rehabilitating adult and adolescent individuals in the substance abuse treatment program. Under the general supervision of the Director of Veteran & SUD Services with support from the Clinical Supervisor for Substance Use Disorders, provides therapeutic services for individuals with substance use disorders. Duties include but are not limited to assessment, counseling, treatment plan development, coordinating and advocating on behalf of assigned clients. Responsible for identifying the nature of the presenting problems and specific services and support needs of the individual, planning, advocating, and coordinating the delivery of needed services, including emergency services. Uses specific motivational interviewing techniques and other evidence-based practices to assist individuals through the process of change. Works with individuals that have co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Salary will be based on education/licensure status. Qualifications Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in a Human Services related field preferred. Experience: Experience in a social, behavioral, or human service occupation preferred, but not required. Experience working in a community mental health clinic is preferred. Must be familiar with working with adults with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Must be familiar with working with adolescents ages 13 to 17 years old with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. Required License/Certifications LCDC Intern license required, full LCDC preferred. (Must be valid in the state of Texas) A valid Texas driver's license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead. PECAN VALLEY MH-MR REGION
