Job Description

Structural Group, Inc., develops and integrates products, engineering support, repair and maintenance services to provide value-added solutions to owners, engineers and contractors. We provide specialty contracting services through our contracting companies, and state-of-the-art proprietary products and engineering support services through our technologies company. With over 2,500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets, we serve the Commercial, Public, Transportation Industrial, and Power markets to tackle the toughest construction challenges.

The Subcontract Administrator is responsible for ensuring all subcontractor and project-related insurance requirements are met and maintained throughout the construction lifecycle. This role is a key part of the company’s risk management strategy—reviewing, tracking, and verifying insurance documentation to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and protect the company from unnecessary risk exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review subcontractor Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and related documents for accuracy and compliance with company and project-specific requirements.
  • Identify non-compliant insurance coverages and escalate issues to project teams, legal, Risk Manager or Senior Director of Risk Management as appropriate.
  • Maintain insurance records and tracking logs to monitor expirations, renewals, and outstanding documentation.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on appropriate insurance coverage types and limits based on risk exposure and project needs.
  • Review client insurance requirements and assist in obtaining and issuing company COIs that meet those specifications.
  • Coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to resolve insurance-related issues and ensure timely submission of updated policies or endorsements.
  • Interpret insurance terminology and policy language to ensure full understanding of coverage terms and limitations.
  • Apply knowledge of construction scopes of work to assess potential risks and related insurance needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance compliance, risk management, or contract administration.
  • Strong understanding of insurance terminology and types of coverage (GL, WC, Auto, Umbrella, Builders Risk, Professional Liability, etc.).
  • Ability to assess compliance, interpret complex documents, and identify risk-related gaps with accuracy.
  • Confidence in negotiating insurance terms and advocating for risk-aware solutions.
  • Ability to translate technical insurance language into understandable guidance for non-experts.

STRUCTURAL is proud of a company culture that promotes 24/7 safety and quality. We offer competitive compensation and benefits including medical and dental insurance, 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, tuition reimbursement, career development and growth opportunities, and a caring work environment.
