Expected salary range of $140,400 to $156,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Performs advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear core design. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Functions with recognized industry-level expertise in a technical area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks to resolve complex problems that require unique solutions applying general engineering principles
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs.
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise in the design, development, and generation of software tools that aid in the support of nuclear engineering management process.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve process and automation problems.
  • Provides initial or complete task management of nuclear engineering issues.
  • Recommends new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operation, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Assure all products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements
  • Develop, implement and coordinate functional supervisory activities including, but not limited to, personnel, budgetary accountabilities and planning goals with respect to Nuclear Fuels personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Degree Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or non-engineering Technical bachelor's and 10 years of computer science experience OR
  • 2-yr tech degree and 12+ years of computer science experience OR High School Diploma and Minimum of 14 years computer science experience
  • Must have excellent computer skills, communication skills (both written and oral) and experience in database administration.
  • Demonstrated consistently good performance and the necessary technical skills required to take on new assignments with greater responsibilities for the previous two (2 years)
  • Placement into this classification requires VP Nuclear Fuels approval

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced Technical Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Work experience outside of primary area of technical expertise
  • Project Management Experience
