Job Description

The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier is looking for a sports reporter. This position includes coverage of six metro high schools and 23 area schools in six counties. It also includes some coverage of a state university, a Division III college, a community college, one youth hockey team and one high school hockey team. In addition to writing feature stories on local teams and athletes, daily responsibilities include budgeting the sports section one to three times a week, covering games, taking photos and shooting videos. You will coordinate with the regional sports editor on day-to-day efforts. Social media and mobile reporting skills (photography, video, Facebook Live) are a must.
