- Summary
- The sports & Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of sports programs and events within the facility as well as offsite.
- Exemption Status

- Job Status
- Full-time, 40 hours a week, or more as needed
- Schedule:
- Varies in order to plan/execute events as needed
- Traditional office hours are Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM or 6PM (depends on workout)

- Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, health & human performance, or sports science or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Essential Job Duties
- Ensures the delivery of high-quality sports-related services, member engagement, and event management while maintaining a focus on member satisfaction and overall facility operations.
- Design, implement, and manage a variety of sports and fitness programs (e.g., football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, fitness challenges, tournaments).
- Plan, organize, and execute facility events, including competitions, tournaments, themed fitness events, and community outreach programs.
- Additional Duties
- Program Development & Management:
- Develop schedules for classes, sports leagues, and tournaments, ensuring they align with member interests and facility capabilities.
- Ensure all programs meet the facility standards for safety, quality, and engagement.
- Track participant attendance, revenue, and feedback to continuously improve programs.
- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, and partners for event needs (e.g., business plan for venue use, equipment, prizes, catering).
- Manage logistics, including staffing, transportation, permits, and promotional efforts.
- Ensure smooth operations and successful outcomes for all events, from initial concept to post-event evaluation.
- Member Engagement:
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members and non-members through engaging sports programs and events.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to member inquiries related to sports programs, events, and registration.
- Encourage member participation through marketing and promotional efforts, including social media, email, and in-club signage.
- Team Leadership & Staff Management:
- Supervise, train, and schedule sports and events staff, including coaches, trainers, referees, and volunteers.
- Ensure all staff members are adhering to club policies, safety protocols, and providing high levels of service.
- Provide guidance and support to staff for event day coordination and troubleshooting.
- Budgeting & Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets for sports programs and events, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Track expenses, manage payments for services, and ensure cost-efficiency in event execution.
- Work with management to identify revenue-generating opportunities such as sponsorships and special event offerings.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote sports programs and events to the health club members and the broader community.
- Assist with creating content for promotional materials, social media posts, and newsletters.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging for all sports-related offerings.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Enforce all health, safety, and liability guidelines during sports programs and events.
- Monitor the condition of sports facilities, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe environment for participants.
- Reporting & Feedback:
- Regularly report on program participation, event success, and financial performance.
- Gather and analyze feedback from members and participants to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the planning and execution for businesses and organizations
- Plan and coordinate accommodations, venues, staffing, and equipment for events and daily use
- Required Skills / Experience
- Ability to balance and prioritize the day-to-day operational issues and needs that arise
- 4+ years of experience in a gym with multi-faceted programming and revenue streams
- Strong communication, problem-solving, time management, and analytical skills
- Functional knowledge or MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
- Preferred Skills / Experience
- Maintain current CPR/Training Certification
