About Recess Pediatric Therapy:

Recess Pediatric Therapy is dedicated to helping children and their families reach their highest potential through engaging and effective habilitative and rehabilitative care. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in conducting thorough evaluations to assess the speech and language therapy needs of pediatric clients.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the SLPs based on assessment results and the unique needs of each child.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of SLPs, including interventions to enhance communication skills, speech production, language comprehension, and social communication.
  • Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Monitor and document progress towards therapy goals, reporting adjustments needed to the supervising SLP.
  • Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies to support the child’s communication development at home.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices in pediatric speech and language therapy.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Speech Language Pathology Assisting or a related field from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant in the state of California.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development, articulation disorders, phonological disorders, and other relevant therapy techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in pediatric speech and language therapy.
