The Scrum Master will lead the agile team and development partners through the software development life cycle process. This would include Agile Scrum-based software development, Hybrid Agile based development along with cross functional communication, software technical project management, requirements traceability, source code control, test case management and defect tracking. The Scrum Master monitors the health of the team by managing the implementation improvements as suggested in team retrospectives and having feedback conversations with all team members on a regular basis.
Job Responsibilities This role will work with development partners to build scalable software and module development lifecycle processes.
- Leads team through the Agile SDLC
- Collaborates with partners to transition the operating model to Agile methodologies and processes, including scrum, Kanban and/or SAFe
- Implements processes, practices, and tools to allow for multiple paths of delivery by creating simplified, consistent, reusable, efficient and flexible methodologies
- Recommends improvements and drive alignment across the organization
- Inspires others to adopt new processes and improvements based on program retrospectives
- Creates & maintains progress information on behalf of the team (Burndown Charts,Sprint Review Packs, etc.)
- Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the initiative
- Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances
- Defines and manages scoping, definition and prioritization activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity
- Facilitates input from stakeholders, provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritization of product backlog
- Investigates, manages, and applies authorized requests for changes in line with change management policy
- Deals with people issues; escalates to Sr. Scrum Master when necessary
- Lead sprint planning and estimation of stories with their teams
- Responsible for organization and facilitating Agile team stand ups, including team retrospectives
- Assists the core team members and product owner in removing Impediments that obstruct their team's goals and commitments
- Occasionally required to work late evening and weekends as needed.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Business-related field, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Certification - SAFe certified (or other scaled agile frameworks) desirable
- Certified Scrum Professional®-ScrumMaster (CSP-SM) or Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM℠) certification desirable
- Insurance certifications or affiliation with industry group a plus
Work Experience - 3+ years' leading an Agile team
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, test automation and cloud deployment
- Experience with Project Management and Agile collaboration tools such as JIRA, EazyBI, Confluence
- Experience leading team sprint planning and skilled at utilizing numerous estimation methods
- Working knowledge of Agile process and principles
- with knowledge of embedded SDLC process
- Value Proposition: Knowledge of procedures used to demonstrate the ROI of the solution
- Basic Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply the principles, tools and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects or work plans to ensure successful completion (e.g. on time, within budget).
