Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 8/1/2024 Location: MOUNT DANIEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL General Responsibilities: Provides leadership and utilizes decision-making skills to oversee the Special Education program at the school level, serving as the designee representing the Local Education Agency (LEA) district at the school level. Education and Experience: Master's degree in special education or related field Endorsement in administration and special education or related field Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, Pre K-12 5 years of experience in special education or related field Evidence of leadership and administrative experience within special education or related field Experience with IEPs and the special education process Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary, problem solving team Physical Requirements: Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and projection and video devices. Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.
