As we expand our operations, we are actively seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to join our Commercial Services Roofing Division. Position Overview:

We are in search of an experienced Safety Coordinator to lead safety initiatives, implement robust safety programs, and instill a culture of wellbeing across our roofing operations. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, minimizing accidents, and upholding the highest safety standards within our company. Travel within the Texas regions is a requirement for this position.

Job Responsibilities - Safety Coordinator

  • Develop, implement, and maintain knowledge of current safety policies and procedures that comply with OSHA roofing regulations and construction industry standards.
  • Regularly conduct safety audits, inspect jobsites, company vehicle inspection, equipment, tools, and facilities to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
  • Report to management safety issues, notes from Safety Committee meetings, incidents, accidents, total Recordable Incident Rates and other safety related concerns.
  • Have working knowledge of first aid treatment, Defibrillators and first response team. Have knowledge of egress, regress, overhead crane operations, PPE’s, secured cargo regulations, strap inspection etc.
  • Communicate, maintain annual OSHA required postings.
  • Implement and oversee the Behavioral Based Safety program.
  • Familiar with Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act.
  • Lead and guide the Safety Committee for commercial department
  • Work with management and employees to achieve a clean, safe work environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and assess risks, and work with management to develop strategies for mitigating those risks.
  • Keep track of and post days without accident and days without incident.
  • Develop and conduct safety training programs.
  • Ensure that all accidents, incidents and near misses are properly reported and investigated, and that corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, insurance providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Work with carriers, management, and employees in controlling the Total Recordable Incident Rate.
  • Manage interactions with OSHA including any investigations, determinations, and resolutions.
  • Plan, organize, establish objectives and goals, and execute projects assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator, with a preference for experience in the construction or roofing industry.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly those relevant to roofing operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., CSP, OHST) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant safety management software.

Work Location and Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays during storm season. Must work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
