**Roll-Off Driver**

**Location:** Prince George, BC, CA ****Job Responsibilities****

* Come to work well rested, mentally and physically prepared for your days duties.

* Pre-trip truck circle checks as per itemized inspection sheet.

* Complete any repair orders for your truck to ensure that your truck is in a safe condition.

* Required to immediately report any defects in equipment or workmanship, which may jeopardize the safe operation of your vehicle.

* Required to report any and all damage to the vehicle, its contents, or properties of others due to an accident in which your equipment is involved.

* As a representative of the company, it is important to always be neat in appearance and courteous to our clients.

* Ensure that when arriving at a clients site, you advise the client of your presence and ensure that the compactor equipment is shut down and locked out before switching containers.

* Duties will include driving a roll off truck to various client locations to switch, install and or remove roll off containers. Tarping and picking up partial/ full roll off container loads and transporting loads to the proper facilities, as instructed by dispatcher, to be dumped. This sequence will repeat during each day with some days being busier than others.

* Responsible to ensure that the clients site is cleaned of any spill over debris, which may have fallen out from the container during the tarping and switching procedures.

* Ensure that all compactor equipment is properly hooked up prior to leaving the clients facility

* Containers opened steel doors can close onto driver if not secured in open position properly before dumping.

* Contents of container can fall onto driver when back doors are being opened. Driver shall stand clear of rear when opening doors.

* Container doors can spring open under extreme pressure once locking device is disengaged. Driver shall insure that no personnel, machinery, or structures are in the doors swing path causing injuries or damage.

* Roll-off cable, hook, or hydraulic components could fail due to wear or fatigue, causing container from coming disconnected from the vehicle. Driver is to insure that no personnel or machinery is working or traveling behind the vehicle when the container is being pickedup or dumped.

This job description indicates the general nature and level of work, duties and responsibilities expected of the incumbent. The incumbent may be asked to perform other duties as required. Job description may change if needed.

****Qualifications****

**Education**

* Valid Class 1 drivers license with air brake endorsement.

**Skills/Experience**

* Minimum 3 years truck driving experience

* Minimum 6 months roll-off experience

* You are responsible to abide by all Cascades Recovery Inc. Safety Rules, Policies, and Procedures.

* Steel toe safety boots must be worn while working.

* Safety gloves and hard hats to be worn while prying open container doors or working to chain the doors, or doing any job which would be deemed hazardous to the hands or head.

* Safety vest is to be worn while working.

* You are responsible to meet all legal requirements under the Traffic & Highway acts, as well as any Provincial or Municipal laws regulating the operation of a motor vehicle.

* While on clients site, you will be responsible to abide by the site safety regulations.

* You are required to work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act Ontario.

* You are required to work in a safe manner and not to endanger yourself, clients, another employee, or any other person, through reckless unsafe actions.

* You shall not remove or make ineffective, any protective device required by Cascades Recovery Inc.

* You shall ensure that all loads being transported are loaded in a safe and secure manner, and tarped appropriately.
