LOCATION

* Role provides the opportunity to work in hybrid environment, working both virtually and in office when required. Position Summary What you'll do This is a paid Summer Engineering Internship Program (mid-May to early August). As an intern with our Austin Software group, you'll work to assist in development of our autonomous underwater vehicle development program doing software development, algorithm development, simulation and vehicle operation/testing. Additional responsibilities may include user documentation, testing and requirements gathering. Duties And Responsibilities Your job responsibilities and projects will be based upon your experience and educational background to provide real life application of your classroom knowledge. You'll work closely with a mentor to ensure your developmental goals are met and that you meet your performance expectations.   • Carries out tasks as assigned by Project Manager and the Software Development Manager.
  • Tasks would generally be software development, algorithm development, simulation, and documentation.
  • Assist in preparing presentations, articles, and technical papers.
  • Interface inside and outside a meeting setting with project team members and clients.
  • Testing software remotely, in simulation and on the designated vehicle.

REQUIRED

  • PhD candidate at an accredited University, pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Robotics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with C++.
  • Experience with vehicle control system concepts.
  • Experience with image processing concepts and techniques.
  • Experience with robotics algorithms such as 3D path planning, SLAM, and kinematics.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
