OVERVIEW:

Develops and originates all residential loan production in conformance with the Banks policies and procedures.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs any functions necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to customers.

Originates residential loan products to meet sales and service goals. Cross-sells the Banks various services whenever possible. Provides quality customer service throughout the mortgage origination process.

Meets with, takes applications and qualifies applicants both within and outside of the Bank. Serves as liaison between broker, borrower and Bank during application process and up through closing. Reviews processes to generate business and ways to render support between departments.

Works independently making sales calls on existing and potential customer referral sources. Establishes and maintains relationships with real estate brokers, attorneys, builders, and other related professionals in order to promote and develop Bank business and to provide information on any new programs or procedures implemented by the Bank.

Promotes the Bank’s products and services and maintains an active participation in community affairs. Conducts periodic educational seminars for potential borrowers and brokers.

Keeps abreast of regulatory and competitive developments within the area of residential lending. Attends relevant courses and seminars.

Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines.

Responsible for adhering to bank policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the job function.

Performs related and unrelated duties as may be needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

In compliance with the federal Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act) and various state banking laws, MLOs at Chelsea Groton Bank must satisfy certain professional state-licensing requirements prior to engaging in loan origination activities on behalf of Chelsea Groton Bank.

Bachelors Degree or its equivalent in specialized course work and training. Five years progressively responsible mortgage origination experience or related sales experience. Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage lending functions involving financial statement analysis, credit risk, installment lending, and general business finance. Working knowledge of all Banks products and services. Excellent communications, negotiation and organizational skills. Proven sales ability. Must have the ability to operate laptop computer and associated peripherals both inside and outside Bank facilities using Bank mortgage software. Must have valid driver license.

None

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Establishes own work plan and performs work independently within scope of established guidelines and practices. Generally refers specific problems to manager where clarification of policies and procedures is needed.

COMPLIANCE:

Responsible for adhering to Bank policies and procedures relating to regulatory compliance requirements applicable to the job function including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and Fair Lending.
