POSITION OVERVIEW: ArgenTech Solutions (AgTS) is seeking an experienced UAS Pilot to support dynamic and challenging commercial operations across multiple projects in the U.S. and internationally. This role involves conducting demonstrations, training, and operational flights while ensuring regulatory compliance, mission success, and outstanding customer service.
LOCATION: Remote with extensive travel (4+ weeks at a time). Travel required for training and contract-specific missions.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Flight Operations
- Conduct demonstration, training, and operational flights in accordance with AgTS and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FAA/CAA regulations and applicable international standards.
- Operate UAS for ISR, mapping, inspection, and security missions using aeronautical decision-making and safety management tools.
- Manage all aspects of mission planning, deployment, execution, and recovery.
- Maintain proficiency in radio communications (FM & VHF) with ground and air assets.
Training
- Develop and conduct UAS training programs for customers, partners, and internal personnel.
- Provide hands-on flight instruction and classroom training on UAS operations, safety, and mission execution.
- Ensure trainees achieve proficiency in FAA regulations, flight procedures, and operational risk management.
- Assist in the creation and revision of training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and curriculum to align with evolving industry best practices.
- Evaluate trainees through practical assessments, flight evaluations, and written exams.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Stay current with FAA regulations, airspace rules, and risk management best practices.
- Complete all required pre- and post-mission planning documentation (site assessments, risk analysis, flight logs).
Customer & Mission Support
- Serve as a primary interface with customer management, ensuring contract requirements are met.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, and clients to ensure mission success.
Equipment & Data Management
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize UAS platforms, payloads, and sensor systems.
- Capture and deliver high-quality imagery, video, and sensor data for actionable insights.
Field Operations
- Deploy to remote and austere locations for extended periods under demanding conditions.
- Maintain operational readiness, self-sufficiency, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- UAS Flight Experience: 100+ hours of UAS flight time.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, with experience in operational risk management and flight safety.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and situational awareness in high-stress environments.
- Ability to work independently or in a small team with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain UAS systems in the field.
- Project management experience including budgets, personnel, and equipment.
- Experience with flight planning, maintenance tracking, and pilot tracking software(s).
- Ability to pass AgTS background investigation.
- FEMA IS-100 & IS-200 completion certificates (or ability to complete)
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
- 3+ years of UAS operations experience, preferably in ISR, mapping, inspection, or security operations.
- 3+ years of instructor/teaching experience.
- Advance operational experience (BVLOS, high altitude, flight testing, long-linear, and/or operations in populated areas).
- Strong troubleshooting and UAS maintenance skills.
- Ability to deploy for extended periods (4+ weeks) in remote environments.
- Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Valid passport for international travel.
- FAA Private Pilot Certificate or higher.
- FAA Instrument Rating, Commercial Rating, or Military Flight Experience.
- FEMA IS-700 & IS-800 completion certificates
- Experience in military or law enforcement ISR operations.
- Drone-in-a-box, Drone-as-First Responder (DFR), or security-related UAS experience.
- Certifications in GIS, LiDAR, or remote sensing technologies.
- Experience in both fixed-wing/VTOL and rotorcraft/multicopter UAS.
- Experience with enterprise UAS operations or OEMs.
- Transport Canada’s Advanced Aircraft Operator Certificate.
- Personnel management experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Work in small, confined spaces.
- Traverse uneven terrain while carrying 40 lbs.
- Stand and walk for at least two hours without rest.
- Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Successful candidates must complete an initial internal flight training course.
- Position may require access to ITAR/EAR-restricted information, requiring U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
