Job Description

Overview As a Property Accountant, you will manage a portfolio of properties, including both complex, staffed assets (reviewed by a Manager) as well as smaller properties where you will independently issue monthly and quarterly financials. You will be responsible for preparing complete and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, variance analyses, property and tenant statistics, and general ledger reconciliations. Responsibilities Work on both upper and lower-tier entities and take the lead on initial REIT testing where applicable. Prepare cash distribution worksheets to determine partner distributions. Develop annual property budgets and coordinate with auditors, addressing questions during year-end audits. Partner with tenants and internal stakeholders, providing information and resolving inquiries. Maintain both GAAP and tax reporting requirements for complex properties. Understand and interpret tenant leases to ensure accurate accounting and billing. Manage cash transactions for complex properties effectively.
