Job Description

Summit Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Azure DevOps Server Administrator. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our government client’s Azure DevOps Server environment. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure DevOps Server architecture, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and high availability of development tools. This is a hybrid role based in Washington, DC. You must be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Azure DevOps Server infrastructure components including application servers, databases, and build agents.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and provide technical expertise in optimizing Azure DevOps Server configurations to support efficient CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of Azure DevOps Server.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with policies and industry regulations.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using PowerShell, Azure DevOps pipelines, or other scripting tools.
  • Perform regular backups, disaster recovery planning, and system upgrades to ensure data integrity and system reliability.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams on Azure DevOps Server usage, features, and integrations.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to maintain a knowledge base for future reference.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to Azure DevOps Server administration.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or DevOps engineer with a focus on Microsoft Azure DevOps Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure DevOps Server architecture, installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, SQL Server, and IIS.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience with source control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Azure DevOps certification(s) such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
