JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team at [Hotel Name]. The Lead Cook will oversee and manage the kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation of high-quality dishes for our hotel guests. This role requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage line cooks, maintain high culinary standards, and contribute to the overall success of our hotel's dining experience.


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, train, and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff
  • Delegate tasks efficiently to ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Conduct regular team meetings and provide constructive feedback
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
  • Ensure all dishes are presented aesthetically and consistently
  • Monitor portion sizes and presentation to ensure consistency
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
  • Implement and monitor food safety and sanitation practices
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation
  • Monitor ingredient usage to minimize waste
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and in good working order
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef in developing and testing new recipes
  • Provide input on menu changes based on customer feedback and seasonal availability
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
  • Communicate effectively with the Executive Chef and management team
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve any kitchen-related issues promptly
  • Assist in planning and executing special events, banquets, and room service
  • Ensure high standards of food quality and presentation for all hotel events
  • Work closely with the banquet team to meet guest expectations and dietary requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Food Handler’s Certification (must comply with State requirements)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Lead Cook or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume hotel or restaurant
  • Exceptional cooking skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
