The PMO Specialist position helps streamline the future of NPD projects that will take Bobcat into the future and help maintain and strengthen a leadership position in a global market. Our NPD Governance Team is looking to hire a dynamic PMO Specialist with an organized mindset to join our team. PMO Specialists are responsible for new project requests, small project practices, and portfolio work related to the NPD Governance team. Additionally, the PMO Specialist role will work directly with executive leaders and the PMO Director under the NPD Governance Manager's direction to own areas within our Executive Gate Reviews, training, and specialized organizational projects as needed within the NPD Governance team to reach annual operations plans. 

The PMO Specialist role is a mid-level position, offering experience within the PMO while developing foundational relationships within Bobcat and responsibilities within the NPD project framework at Bobcat.

 

Role & Responsibility

Reporting to the NPD Governance Manager, this role will assist our NPD Teams, Program Managers, and NPD Governance Manager to ensure all projects move from initiation to execution with consistency and success. 

This role will focus on the intake of new project requests and the training and facilitation of NPD process management and gate reviews within the NPD and Small Project teams.

Additionally, this position will be responsible for the following activities to include, but are not limited to: 

• Intake and creation of new project requests from the NPD teams during and throughout the AOP planning and non-AOP planning sessions. 
• Support and management of the executive and small project gate review processes.
• Coordination of PMO processes in conjunction with the NPD Governance Team best practices.
• Ensure that the NPD processes are followed and effective throughout the lifecycle of projects.
• Training and mentoring members of the NPD teams for large and small projects, along with developing and delivering training materials for continued education of NPD team members.
• Support special projects related to NPD and small project process growth and support adoption and delivery of these projects.
• Consolidate at organizational level project and department KPIs (Project Efficiency, On Time Delivery).
• Drive portfolio governance and ensure adherence to established governance processes, guide agreed-upon project management processes, practices, and systems.
• Assist in the rollout and management of new processes and directions identified and documented by the NPD Governance Team.
• Motivate and influence immediate team members to a high level of performance to meet primary team objectives and deliver towards overall team goals, where the team is and the NPD Teams and the Global PMO they are supporting.
• Hands-on mentorship with new project management onboarding for small to medium-sized projects when needed, as well as occasionally partake in the direct management of projects throughout the entire lifecycle as requested.
  
   

Job Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Project Management, or a related major.
• 2-5 years of project-related and/or business experience.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or expectation to acquire within 6 months of hire.
• Microsoft Suite proficiency, including PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project or a comparable project scheduling tool. Previous experience with Microsoft Teams is a plus.
• Expect 10-20% travel depending on individual project requirements. Travel may include international travel to global offices overseas but is often focused on daily travel to manufacturing locations within North Dakota. PMO Specialists are expected to work globally, which requires coordination with global project teams.
