Job Description

Our client is hiring a Payroll Manager:

Location: Hybrid - Reston, VA

Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Manage multicompany and multistate payrolls, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely manner
• Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure payroll integration with other systems and processes.
• Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and update company policies accordingly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 8 years of payroll experience, with a focus on multicompany and multistate payrolls.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10 years of payroll experience, with a focus on multicompany and multistate payrolls.
• Extensive experience with Deltek/Costpoint accounting systems.
• Strong experience in ADP/Paychex payroll systems.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxes and related compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
• Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
