Job Description

Job Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides close, one-to-one observation of a patient to provide a safe environment. Promotes a calm, therapeutic, safe environment using professional communication skills and utilizes principles of caring in a respectful manner. Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Licensure/ Certification Current CPR certification and CPI (Crisis Prevention and Intervention) course required within 6 months of hire. Experience Six months experience in health care or security preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe, age-specific and therapeutic patient environment.
• Ability to don and wear personal protective equipment as part of infection control guidelines.
• Good hygiene practiced and neat in personal appearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic proficiency with MS Office and able to learn new software rapidly.
• Ability to walk, stand or sit for prolonged periods and meet the physical requirements of the job.
