Our law firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Paralegal to join our team in managing and maintaining civil files for our attorneys. As a Civil Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout the various stages of civil lawsuits, ensuring all files are accurately prepared, and deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of civil law procedures, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare civil files for lawsuits in the pre-suit stage, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Maintain statute of limitations calendar and other deadlines, keeping attorneys informed of critical dates.

• Manage discovery due dates and case status for all files.

• Draft and file various legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and correspondence.

• Act as the attorney's primary point of contact with clients, adjustors, attorneys, and court staff.

• Independently manage tasks and priorities for each file.

• Diary court appearances for attorneys and maintain an organized calendar.

• Prepare civil cases for settlement and disbursement, ensuring adherence to legal procedures.

• Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, calendar entry, diary entry, internet research, and legal practice management software.

Qualifications:

• 1 year or more of experience in the field or relevant area of study (preferred but not required).

• Knowledge of e-courts filing system and Amicus Attorney (preferred but not required).

• Strong emphasis on organization and independent work skills.

• Excellent legal writing and research abilities.

• Leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
