Job Description

This is a full-time, onsite position in San Jose and Sunnyvale, CA.

Candidates must be local to the Bay Area .

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering , Computer Science, or Optical Communications
• 1–3 years hands-on experience in optical network labs (BS: 3 years, MS: 1 year)
• Proficiency in Python ; familiarity with other programming languages (Java, MATLAB, C#, JavaScript) is a plus
• Knowledge of L2/L3 routers and switches; SSH, Telnet, API-based automation experience
• Experience with lab equipment setup, testing, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and scripting
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of coherent optical networks and pluggable optical transceivers
• Experience with test plan creation and execution for optical system trials
• Prior exposure to automation tools supporting lab or field trials

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, configure, and manage lab setups for optical network demos and trials
• Handle routers, switches, and fiber optic connections; perform network configuration (IP setup, CLI)
• Support shipping, receiving, and inventory of lab equipment
• Develop automation scripts (Python preferred) to streamline lab processes
• Execute test plans, diagnose issues, and troubleshoot technical problems in lab environments
• Collaborate with FAE and cross-functional teams to support early deployments
• Document processes and contribute to knowledge transfer within the team

Work Requirements:

• Must be onsite in San Jose/Sunnyvale, CA ; flexible to work between both offices weekly
• Standard 8-hour shifts; overtime requires prior approval
• Participation in team knowledge transfer and lab operations during temporary assignment
