Job Summary :

The Sr Clinical Analyst is responsible for planning and leading projects related to Information Systems and Applications within the WMC Health Pharmacy department. This individual participates and/or leads in the development of workflows, system configuration, application deployment and support, change documentation, and support of staff on application functionality. This requires the individual to stay current with the application as well as interfacing with WMC Health IS and external analysts The incumbent must have a good understanding of technical infrastructure when applicable such as networking, data interfaces, and server administration. The incumbent must also be comfortable with providing technical assistance both remotely and in person. The incumbent must employ excellent communication skills in sharing information with users within the department. The incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance for and/or performing on-going maintenance, testing and support of clinical systems within WMC Health. The Sr Clinical Analyst is responsible for highly complex applications, providing consultative IT advice to departmental and organizational leadership, and guiding other employees within the department. The incumbent will need a comprehensive understanding of every project assigned; business needs being addressed, the major constituents affected and their stake and role in the project. The position will also be required to assist in directing the strategic plan in the support and evolution of complex systems. Additionally, at the Senior level, the incumbent typically coordinates projects and is able to lead multiple simultaneous projects to completion.

Responsibilities:

\n\n

The Sr Clinical Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the following responsibilities as well as guiding other employees who may be performing these duties. Senior-level projects are defined by a substantial level of scope and complexity and incumbents typically simultaneously lead multiple projects to completion. This individual will assist in the management of automation pharmacy technicians.

\n\n

Perform System Analysis:

\n\n

1. System analysis, design, and implementation of software systems where applicable.

\n\n

2. Installation and support of applications.

\n\n

3. Work with users at various level of the organization to determine operational needs and information processing options.

\n\n

4. Perform continual assessment of available application enhancements and requirements to facilitate continued improvements in software capability as required to meet the goals prioritized by WMC Health.

\n\n

5. Respond to research and education needs of WMC Health faculty and staff to produce research and statistical data for management and faculty, as well as application-specific functionality.

\n\n

6. Conduct research to determine the procedures/build/workflows/support needs of other health care institutions.

\n\n

7. Provide continual consulting support for existing applications/systems and implement new clinical applications/systems.

\n\n

8. Support vendor applications systems.

\n\n

9. Assure existing systems are processing effectively and accurately according to objectives.

\n\n

10. Provide analysis and reports to faculty, staff and other stakeholders as required.

\n\n

11. Perform testing of applications prior to implementation.

\n\n

12. Work on assignments as related to applications or other sections of projects.

\n\n

13. Provide project management staff and management with status reports regarding assigned projects.

\n\n

14. Assist with project documentation preparation, as necessary.

\n\n

15. Work in coordination with other WMC Health IS staff, management, and others to analyze, develop and implement clinical systems.

\n\n

16. Coordinate Information Systems resources across numerous teams to support application implementation, upgrades, and maintenance where applicable. This includes but is not limited to:

\n\n

\n\n

Provide support for internal and external contacts

\n\n

17. Serve as liaison between stakeholders and vendor representatives during application research and design process. In addition, coordinate implementation of applications between user groups.

\n\n

18. Serve as a resource to other organizations installing similar systems.

\n\n

19. Assist WMC Health faculty and management staff in the analysis of information systems options and functionality to meet research and educational needs.

\n\n

20. Coordinate with and manage other team members and prepare for implementation and support of new and existing applications.

\n\n

21. Provide initial and potential ongoing user training and education for users in the operation of new system applications.

\n\n

22. Provide ongoing user support and/or assist in education for enhancements to existing applications.

\n\n

23. Conduct system demonstrations for visiting groups and other hospitals.

\n\n

24. Assist users in maximizing the use of clinical systems to increase efficiency.

\n\n

25. Provide support of system issues/problems as triaged from the Help Desk

\n\n

26. Serve as the point person within IS for clinical information related systems

\n\n

27. Server support where applicable

\n\n

28. Working with the server team to coordinate downtime in order to allow for routine server maintenance

\n\n

29. On-Call support which may include scheduled 24/7 support.

\n\n

30. Lead and coordinate projects directly related to applications or other large projects as designated by department management.

\n\n

31. Prepare project documentation as defined by user documentation guidelines and review documentation completed by other analysts. Examples of documentation include: current procedures review; functional requirements; project plans; meeting minutes issues documentation or other documentation required by department management

\n\n

\n\n

ALL DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS MUST BE PERFORMED CONSISTENTLY WITH THE WMC HEALTH PERFORMANCE STANDARDS.

\n\n

\n\n

Qualifications/Requirements:

\n\n

Experience:

\n\n

Preferred: Cerner Millennium implementation experience, current Cerner Millennium certification or attainment of Cerner Millennium certification within six months of employment

\n\n

\n\n

Education:

\n\n

\n\n

Required : Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university.

\n\n

\n\n

Preferred : Completion of six months of a pharmacy residency program or one year of professional-level experience as a Clinical Pharmacist or three years of professional-level experience as a Staff Pharmacist.

\n\n

\n\n

Licenses / Certifications:

\n\n

\n\n

Required: Valid Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Board of Pharmacy.

\n\n
