Job Description:

Contract position for providing occupational therapy services in a large pediatric clinic based in a non-profit agency that specializes in treating and caring for infants, toddlers, children from birth to adolescence. The program has an early intervention model that recognizes the value of & promotes interdisciplinary consultation with speech, physical and developmental therapists on a child’s team. The therapist must also be skilled at collaborating with a child’s family or other caregivers to help the child play grow and learn.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Performs evaluations to determine patient’s functional level

· Develops individual treatment plans of care

· Implements individual therapy programs

· Provides recommendations for DME

· Monitors patient’s progress

· Prepares accurate written documentation in accordance with state guidelines & reimbursement standards

· Service locations include the clinic, home and community settings as an option.

Desired characteristics of the pediatric occupational therapist are love of working with children, patience, flexibility, ingenuity, creativity, and imagination for adapting activities to meet each child or families individual needs. The pediatric occupational therapist must possess strong interpersonal skills for interaction with children, family and team members from other disciplines.

Qualifications:

· Master’s degree from accredited university required.

· Must meet state requirements for occupational therapy licensure

· One year of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist

· Continuing Education Units to maintain Florida license

Job Type: Contract

$40 to $42/hr., $20/hr meetings or trainings
